Spacing is a design decision, and it is rarely right first time. Design extension adds ground on any of the four sides of a tile and fills it in your design’s own language, so a crowded print loosens, or an off-centre motif comes back to centre, without redrawing anything or losing a pixel of detail. What you get back is still a true seamless repeat.
